Tank, tank, tanks...

Program of the week: tanks! A few, 10 to be precise but a lot of diversity. These are pre-painted 1/72 kits made by a Chinese company and sell by 4D Models in every 7/Eleven of the country (Thailand). These kits are great for wargamers and kids who start model building as there is 2 series of 8 classic tanks, all at the same scale, with enough details and pretty easy to put together. For me they are the opportunity I was looking for in order to start my "Tank GIRL Vs GIRLS Und Panzer" fun project.
Imagine a dystopian world where riot grrrls enjoyed a new martial art based on tanks (when boys are still looking at the slowly dying Euro 2049)? This is pretty much the setup I will be using for these beasts. Need to find a rule (or write) through...

Grace a une petite compagnie thaïlandaise, 4D Models, vendant en supérette des kits "made-in-china" j'ai enfin de quoi mené a bien un projet "Tank GIRL Vs GIRLS Und Panzer". pour ceux qui ne voient pas de quoi on parle: imaginez une Terre en perdition ou les femmes, lassées d’attendre que leur homme décolle du sofa et arrête de regarder l'Euro, ce sont découvert un nouvel hobby: le combat de tanks. On sort les vieilleries des musées et on se met gentiment sur la tronche. Il me reste a trouver des règles.

 We start with the celebrities, German of course: a Tiger and a Stug III

Next are the yankees. The classic M1 Abrams and a funny variation: the M1 Panther II

Then the soviet walk in with theirs monsters: a T-55A and a T-72M1. 

 Another dreadful soviet, the ISU-152 and a weird Chinese counterpart: the Type 98 prototype.

Another classics: the american M42 Duster and the famous Leopard 2

Le tout étant pré-peint a la base (voir en dessous) je me suis lancé dans une technique de vieillissement express a base de jus de peinture a l'huile. Et quant je dis express je ne ment pas: vieillissement rapide a la mousse de blister puis un jus de noir fortement dilué a l'essence de térébenthine pour faire ressortir les creux. On rajoute une noix de peinture au reste de jus pour faire les chenilles et zouu 24h de séchage au soleil. Rebelote avec un jus de terre de sienne et vous avez finit la peinte. Pour la boue: different pastel sec broyé au mortier et mélangé a de la peinture acrylique marron et du vernis mat. Un pinceau en chou-fleur pour faire des sproutz dégeu sur les chenilles et le bas de caisse et c'est plié, vos tanks sont prêt pour la baston. La série de 10 en quoi, 2-3h de taf?

These above are express-weathering results. Blister foam for rusted spot plus two classic washes with oil paints. First black then Sienna Earth and finally some crushed dry-pastels mix with paint and mat varnish for the mud. Pretty effective and very, very, very fast.
